Carer Gateway / Alfred Health Carer Services
clarification
Some carers have advised us that it was a bit confusing receiving a call from Alfred Health Carer Services (AHCS) when they initially called the Carer Gateway national number.   To access Carer Gateway services many carers first call the national phone number, 1800 422 737.  This number is responded to by Carer Gateway Central Intake.  The Intake worker will gather some initial information and will then send your request to your local Carer Gateway outlet.  Your local outlet is determined by your primary residential address.Alfred Health Carer Services (AHCS) is one of seven consortia partners who deliver Carer Gateway services across Victoria.  AHCS is the outlet responsible for the Southern region, covering ten local government areas: Bayside, Cardinia, Casey, Frankston, Glen Eira, Greater Dandenong, Kingston, Mornington Peninsula, City of Port Phillip, and Stonnington.
Once AHCS receives your request from Carer Gateway Central Intake we will call you to discuss your current needs.  To help make this process a bit clearer we have developed this “The Carer Experience Flowchart”.
