Report from our Annual General Meeting

We held a successful AGM on Tuesday 14 August 2012 with between 35 and 40 people attending.  Barbara Hocking was very well received by members – all of us already held her in the highest esteem and we were not disappointed.  She encouraged us to keep up our efforts in advocating for improvement in services for people with a mental illness and those who support them.

The motion put forward by the committee to change the name of our group from ‘Inner South Parents and Friends’ to ‘Inner South Family and Friends’ was passed unanimously.  In our July 2012 Newsletter it was announced that the proposal would be to change the name to ‘Inner South Families and Friends’, however the committee decided that the preference was for ‘Inner South Family and Friends’.

We are pleased that our current committee members have elected to stay on and continue their valuable work on the committee for another year.
