Our support group meets on the second Tuesday of the month at 7.30pm at Uniting (previously known as Prahran Mission), 211 Chapel Street, Prahran.  Parking is available in Chapel Street, or in the car park behind JB HiFi. 14 May:  Dr Katie Allen, Liberal candidate for the federal seat of HIggins will speak on “Issues in mental health for carers and consumers: how would a good mental health system operate?”

11 June:  Kent Burgess, General Manager, Healthy Communities, Star Health will speak on ‘Star Health: Mental Health and Other Supports in our Changing Landscape’

13 August: Guest Speaker, Tania Curlis, NDIS Engagement Consultant, Tandem

10 September: Guest Speaker, Belinda Scarlata, Carer Resource Worker, Mental Health (Acting), Alfred Health Carer Services (AHCS) will give an Update on current services and activities for carers in the southern region

8 October: Guest Speaker, Rohani Bixler, Estate Planning Lawyer will speak on “Wills and Succession Planning for Carers of Individuals with Mental Health Issues”

12 November: Guest Speaker, Associate Professor Simon Stafrace, Director Alfred Mental and Addiction Health will give an Update on Innovations at AMAH

Sunday 13 October 2019 Carers Week Film 10am at Palace Como Cinema. The film is “Ride Like a Girl”, the true story of jockey Michelle Payne who rode the winner of the 2015 Melbourne Cup. The film is followed by lunch across the road at Zen Charcoal BBQ.  Bookings essential on 9076 4722 or email at isfaf@alfred.org.au. Cost for film is $5 pension card holder, $10 non pension card holder.  The lunch is free.
