INNER SOUTH FAMILY AND FRIENDS SUPPORT GROUP MEETINGS
Our support group meets on the second Tuesday of the month at 7.30pm in the Multi Purpose Room at Betty Day Centre, 67 Argyle Street, St Kilda. Argyle Street runs off Chapel Street. Alternative parking is available in Bath Street, enter via Inkerman Street.

14 February: Guests are Heidi Everett, speaker on lived experience, mental health recovery, musician and artist, and Robbie Berman pianist and composer

11 April: Mel Hill and Lindy Alcorn will talk about the various types of support Alfred Health offer specifically for carers (living in the southern region of Melbourne) of people who are experiencing mental health issues.
9 May: Hayley Peckham, mental health nurse, neuroscientist, freelance trainer and consultant with lived experience of complex trauma will speak on neuroplasticity and how our brains are shaped by our lived experiences.
13 June: Lynda Jordan will discuss the role of the Forensic Clinical Specialist and how it benefits consumers, families, MHCSS workers and clinicians.
11 July: Jenifer Lee will speak on The Law and You. Jenifer has extensive experience in Elder Law and Community Education including Wills, Powers of Attorney and End of Life Medical Decision Making.
8 August: The Honourable Emma Kealy MP, Shadow Minister for Mental Health, Shadow Minister for Senior Victorians, Shadow Minister for Consumer Affairs.
12 September: Associate Professor Michael McGartland, Principal Clinical Psychologist in the Alfred Psychiatry Community Program will speak on ‘Psychological therapy: what it is and where to find it’.
10 October: AGM Professor Jayashri Kulkarni Director Monash Alfred Psychiatry Research Centre (MAPrc)
14 November: Associate Professor Simon Stafrace Director Alfred Psychiatric Services will speak on the service, current changes and plans for future improvement.
12 December: End of the Year Dinner will be held at Tacco and Tosca, 251 Richardson Street Middle Park, bookings are essential.
