Tacco and Tosca Restaurant is considered a gourmet restaurant. We thank AMAH for a significant grant which enables this meal to be highly subsidised. Food will be cooked specifically for us on the night.  We are a big group. To assist the chef, we must advise the restaurant of our main course by Friday.  Drinks other than tap water are to be ordered and paid for by individuals.

Confirmation of booking will be emailed to individuals whose deposits show up in ISFAF account and who have emailed isfaf@alfred.org.au with their menu choice.

Thursday 27 April:  Walk and Lunch at Royal Botanic Gardens Birdwood Avenue Melbourne
11am Meet at Visitors Centre, 100 Birdwood Avenue to walk and enjoy the gardens. Our walk WILL begin at 11am sharp.
12.20pm Individuals unable to walk, or who are tired from walking (having started at 11am) are welcome to join a pre-booked ‘Explorer’ covered minibus for a 30 minute tour of the gardens. (cost $5 pensioner/$10 non pensioner)

We have over 20 who have booked for the Walk and Lunch. If you want to ensure your seat on The Explorer, you must book in advance by depositing the booking fee into ISFAF account. Many of us are happy to keep walking till lunch, but The Explorer is available for individuals who wish to have a rest before lunch or are concerned if the weather is questionable. By contrast, diehard ISFAF members not travelling on The Explorer will ‘Be Prepared’ for all weather conditions… jackets/umbrellas/sunscreen etc

Enjoy two concurrent exhibitions and of course, as always – food, friendship, shared experiences, openness and camaraderie at ISFAF events.

PAPER: The Permanence of the Temporary is showing in the main gallery, examining the temporal and fragile nature of paper and how this contrasts with the permanence associated with art.

JAHM acquisitions, including challenging AI generated paintings, conceptual and media-based art and a range of works offer much food for thought in the upstairs apartment, where we will be offered delicious buffet ‘snacks’ in Charlie and Leah Justin’s delightful home designed by their daughter.

Prompt booking is essential to secure your place. The museum has limited numbers which cannot be extended. Secure places will be allocated strictly in order of receipt of donation to:

This retreat has been postponed three times due to Covid, but we are ‘optimistically certain’
that it will go ahead as planned.

 Sunday 10 October 2021:  World Mental Health Day Mental Health Australia has today launched the 2021 World Mental Health Day campaign for October 10, encouraging all Australians to look after their mental health in the midst of the ongoing pandemic. We can now walk together again, family members and canines are very welcome.  Meet at 1.30pm outside Northpoint Cafe Brighton, at the end of North Road.  Non walkers can meet walkers for a chat at 2.45pm.
