Enews special edition #181
August 30th 2022

Dear members and supporters,

Our Reform conference is now one week away! We are pleased to announce that the conference will also be including a live stream. So if you missed out on an in-person ticket to the event, this is the perfect opportunity to attend the conference from home.

Tandem are giving away free online tickets to members. Email: events@tandemcarers.org.au if you would like to tune in. We will reply with instructions on how to secure your ticket and access the conference online on the day.

Our Reform will be a landmark, sector-wide event. The program is finalised and includes an address from The Hon Gabrielle Williams MP Minister for Mental Health, a Q&A with the Collaborative Centre, a Q&A with the Independent Review Panel, a Youth Mental Health and Wellbeing forum, breakout rooms, an imaginarium room, and so much more.

Tandem will give a 30 minute presentation; Why lived and living experience-led reform matters: Tandem’s work on the Family and Carer-led Centres. Our presentation will take you through all of the work that Tandem has done to codesign the Family and Carer-led Centres, including our travel around regional Victoria holding workshops with families, carers and supporters.

We look forward to seeing you at the conference, either in the room or online.

Breaking the Taboo: Giving a voice to the topic of suicide

Discovery College is hosting an online course on suicide. The course will explore how to have open and honest conversations about suicide and how we can support others who have been affected by suicide.

This is a good course for anyone who wants to hear different perspectives from people who have been impacted including friends, families, health professionals, and the broader community.

The course runs from 10:30am – 12:00pm on 22 September, so enrol before spots fill up.
